The new group Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron (because he's a homophobe) is made of teh awesome. Kirk is on Team Jesus, you see, and he says the stupid all the time. Don't bother with the link, we all know what they say about my LGBT friends: somehow they are destroying hetero marriage even tho they are independent events (not mutually exclusive-statistics yo), God said it is unnatural and a sin, etc...
Sooozzzz a group of (former) child celebrities made a video calling out The Kirk man. Here are some quotes...
From Mr Belvedere Brice Beckham, "I'm a CCOKC, and Kirk, you're just a dick."
They all say that.

"Get Funky"
Like that old Beasty Boys song says, "Heeyyyyy, ladies, get funky." Apparently no one told that to Rush "The Pill Head" Limbaugh, or any of the current GOP candidates for that matter. We do not live in biblical times when a woman's job was to have as many children as possible (because of infant mortality rates-n-stuff) and neither do we live in a time when women are one (small) step above cattle and sheep on the who's the boss hierarchy.
I often say that there are factions in this country that want to bring America back to a 1950's culture, that may or may not have existed (if UR white), but with all the whoopla going on right now, it seems they wanna take us back 2,000 years to biblical times. Why? It's the contraception stupid.
The sexual revolution has changed a women's role from baby factory, and only that, to baby factory that also earns her own money (yo know because she is baddass independent-n-shit), takes care of the children and yea, if she is cool, then she is out there. (Yea don't forget all that sex-wink wink). But no one sent the memo to God's party. As we saw in the recent GOP discussion on women's bodies (with no women of the panel) and The Pill Head's super, and I do mean super stupid comments last week...these old white dudes either 1) wish they had their own flesh taco (1) to play with and control, or 2) that they want the return of absolute control over the fairer and (and in my opinion) the better half of the population.
Gee lemmie pull this one outta thin air, was it in the 5th century that the bishops created the myth that Mary Magdalene was a straight up hoe, and not that kind that digs holes, the kind that digs dudes (2). The super hottie Mary was Jesus' closest disciple and she was privy to *special teaching* from the son of god himself. Of course in ancient and stupid times like that, the dudes were all jealous-n-stuff. Some accounts claim that Mary was just as important as Peter in spreading early Christianity. I guess that is why the Gospel of Mary didn't make the cut when the bible as we know it today was first assembled. If it is hard for the ladies to break the glass ceiling right now, imagine how difficult it was during Jesus' time. Not much has changed since then.
Now we have the Catholic bishops forcing the president to make changes to his mandate on contraception (which did not work), panels of old white dudes are teaming up to decide what women can and cannot do with their bodies, the Pill Head is calling an articulate (and pretty) young women a "slut" and a "prostitute" just because she wants access to contraception and...not one of them has asked what women want.
All the cool prog-lib, atheist, feminist kids know what women want...they want control of their bodies and their destinies, and dagnabit, they fuckin' should have that. I yearn for the days when republicans were just about small government and limited spending. When they turned to God's party I dunno.
If the conservative part of the political landscape is to continue in the up coming decades (and I'm all for that) then they must modernize and listen to the ladies. If religion is to survive in the upcoming decades (and I'm down for that also) then they need to modernize their views of sexuality and women.
Thanks for tuning in, yo.
(1) For those with no imagination the flesh taco is...pussy.
(2) Mary was actually from a wealthy family and one of Jesus' best students. It was not until those kooky bishops decided to creat the hoe-myth that Mary's role was dookie-ized.

Not Win By Attrition
Ugh, ugh...super ugh and sheez. Is part of their plan to win by attrition. Last man standing wins, the last philosophy remaining takes the metaphorical..."all" that winners keep talking about. Like I have said many times before, to fight the same battles over and over in the war against, let's say, a woman's right to choose, separation of church and state and the bad ol' battle for the science classroom called creationism, is stupid and and a waste of time (but totally needed).
An Indiana Senate committee passed a horrible bill that would allow schools to teach creationism along side evolution in the science classroom...as equals. Did I say stupid head already. Forget that there is already legal precedent in favor of the athei...err, I mean science (something like the law never stops religion). Fortunately the super awesome ACLU is on the scene. I guess they do not want individual schools-with uber American Christian school board members that probably do not have an understanding of basic science, but did read, I dunno, Kirk Camerons latest God book-deciding if their particular religion is represented in the science classroom as an equal to real science.
They have the slogan Teach The Controversy (that was "them", this is us) but of course that is just typical American Christian hijacking, again. The implication is that those sneaky scientists are hoarding the truth and keeping the real truth away from those poor innocent students because they only wanna teach their Dawin's scripture, evolution. That's what they say.
What I say is that the only thingy controversial is that they are attempting to inject American Christianity into the science classroom, again. It was decided long ago that creationism and Intelligent Design are merely bad camouflage for American Christianity trying to "hide" their way into the science classroom and an attempt to teach Genesis as a theory of the origin of the universe and people of da erffs, which is a violation of church and state. Theoretically, if schools were to *teach the controversy* then each science classroom in every school would hafta teach every creation myth from every culture that ever lived ever ever. Part of their controversy is that the other theories that are equal to evolution are being ignored and not being given equal time (even tho there are no other theories).
* Yea buddy, you know I wuz reading the radio station Eagle County 99.3 FM for my news.
* H/T to @lukegeog (#teambro member, majoring in geology, battler of creationist nonsense)...
* Part of the *controversy* that the uneducated and brainwashed and probably homeschooling barefoot and prego mthers want you/us to believe is...there are other legitimate theories of the origins of the universe and of how humans evolved on the earth (there is not), scientists are purposely not teaching these theories because they hate god and there is some kinda conspiracy, but the fallacy that "they" commit it that they only wann teach their creation story and if "equal time" was really an issue, then we would have to give equal time to all the creation myths of all cultures and 1) that is not practical and 2) mythology does not belong in the science classroom....period. What is so hard to understand about that.

Kansas House Speaker, Don't Pray For Me
Sheez. There is nothing more patriotic than America's religion...Christianity. And there is nothing that says "I sure do love this country" than wanting the awesome Black Prez (Obama) to...die. That is exactly what Kansas house speaker Mikey O'Neal wants.
Mikey recently passed around an email calling for the power of imprecatory prayer and the death of President Obama. They always use their standard Psalm 109 to do this. Here's some highlights from the Prince of Peace's hit album...Psalm 109.
Hold not thy peace...
Set thou a wicked man over him
and let Satan stand at his right hand
let him be
let his days be few
and let another man take his office
let his children be fatherless,
and his wife a widow....
There's more, unfortunately there is always more negativity and hate and violence when religion is concerned, but ya get the picture. Mikey wants the president dead. Plain and simple. What is also plain and simple is religious hate. It is always us v. them. It is always our way or you die (1). Believe what we believe, or die. Many peeps that have not participated in the conversation that the New Atheists (Team Atheist) started do not know this (and that is one of the many reason why Team Atheist is so important and needed. I heart you guys).
The secular crowd desires a religion free public square and that is fair for everyone. We do not not want you to practice your beliefs...we just don't want it in the public square. Many peeps not involved in that conversation I keep talking about often times ask "What's the harm, just leave believers alone. They have never done anything to you." And to that I respond, "Well, I guess...except all the attempted controlling of others that is at the core of all belief systems, except the bigotry and hate directed at the LGBT community, people of different beliefs or no belief, the war on women and the attempted control of their bodies and of course...the *patriotic* endeavor of praying for the presidents death just because you don't agree with his policies (or you just hate him because he is awesome Black).
What's the harm? I guess in this case...just death. Sheez.

(1) Yes, of course I'm totally aware that not all religion is like this, but so what. The time for religion, all of them, to get a free pass is over (thanks New Atheists). All human endeavors are subject to criticism and scrutiny, this includes religion. The time for cherry picking the only positive parts out of religion and putting it on display are over. Over I tell you.
