Scoreboard: Teh Gay 1, Homophobes 0

Dammmmm girl. Wish you played on my team.
Wow could it be that the secret gay agenda is working. Team Atheist remember last year when Papa Bear and his group put up that heretical blasphemous attack on religious liberty "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy life" on the iconic double decker buses across the pond, then they responded with one of their own buss billboard thingies. Well, it's happening again. Sort of.

I'm secure enuff in my hetero-ness to admit that this is one handsome individual.
This time the iconic buses sported a billboard that said "Some people are gay. Get over it (pretty funny and factual if you ask me)." Oh noz not on our watch so sayith two Team Jesus groups, Core Issues Trust and Anglican Mainstream. Thhheeeyyyy came out with a billboard response of their own that says "Post Gay and Proud. Get Over It." Except...

Except London Mayor called bullshit on that and not on mmmmyyyyy watch, them. The homophobic ad was turned down and will not run on the double decker buses.

"It is clearly offensive to suggest that being gay is an illness that someone recovers from," Super cool and reasonable Mayor Boris Johnson said.

This is a good week for teh secret gay agenda. The loser that wrote that one paper that claimed that homosexuality can be cured retracted his NOT scientific paper. This is quit a blow to homophobes because that is what they quote from all the time. Praying away the gay and reparative therapy had another point in the win column this week, but of course this Nor-Cal stoner can't remember what it was at this moment. Now this.

Wow could it be that thru decades of activism that the LGBT community is winning more and more battles, that society is catching up to Team Reasonable. Are things getting better or worse. This week is certainly better for Team LGBT and Team Reason.

* Yea, I read the Pink News on occasion. you should too.

* The always good, no great, Religion News Service. Soooo good.

* Richard Papa Bear Dawkins.

...he's totally teh gay...

This is sooo awesome. It came out the other day. A study claims that (one of the many reasons) homophobia is probably caused by suppressed homosexuality. Really. We needed a study to acknowledge this (not).

The poster boy for "I faked teh gay hating, but I'm really teh gay." Teddy "meth+male prostitute is Tuesday nite" Haggard
It is just like that looney Christian right winger (that makes the normal right wingers look bad) that, with vengeance and passion  on his repressed face says, "homosexuality is an abomination...really, just look at all this material I have. Aaaaallllll this material." Just like that porn video weirdo, that has hella porn that he viewed over and over again with bulging eyes-n-stuff, when he says "This is a sin so sayith the Lord. It is full of temptation...I know first hand," just like when this stuffs happens...these homophobes are going all kettle black.

This is "Brokeback Mountain Jesus" at the 2012 Hunky Jesus Contest.
Really...your *hetero* homie that *acts* fake gay all the time, putting his peeps down in a condescending imitating way, your homie that you watch UFC with (but for different reasons), the bro in the group that has the cleanest bathroom (with soap and toilet parer-n-stuff) and even the cleanest house, yes, that bro....

he's totally gay (", not that there is anything wrong with that." Seinfeld). And...there is always an "and."

Robert Spritzer, yes THAT Robert Spritzer, has retracted his conclusion from the often times quoted (by religious homophobes) paper that stated homosexuality can be cured with therapy. Admittedly he said that most of the critics of his paper are teh correct in that one cannot therapy away teh gay (don't get it confused with praying away teh gay. both stupid, but two different things). They are right and his stupid and not scientific conclusion that eh gay can be therapy-ied away...is teh wrong.

So we have two studies that conclude the same thing...It's OK to be LGBT and it's stupidhead to act fake gay when you are really teh gay.

So sayith teh Kriss

Me Rambeling On And On About Change

OK-ie, it's ultimate question time kiddies. No not does Gawd exist-that will never be answered. It's "Are things getting better or worse." As y'all know that last million times I wrote about this I (probably) said "yes, things are getting worse (thanks depression)." Well months later it's yes, things are getting better."

The battle for secular society is like any long running combat situation in that there are ups and downs. I've been interpreting it as "it's been looking good" as of lates (thanks Prozac). In jolly old England there is a big row (whatevah that is) because the gov just said the correct in that no more soup-no-it's no more prayers at official gov businesses-n-stuff. Just like here in the states the response is the super lame "but it's tradition (1)". That is not a good excuse, much less reason, for violating this fundamental law.

I believe that their courts ruled to take prayer out, then of course, there was an uproar. Whatever their president is called said something and even that Queen we have heard so much about the past million decades  said something.

I'll say that because there is such an uproar...that's a win for Team Atheist. Good job, peeps.

Tom Krattenmaker did the awesome and wrote this really good article and I dunno if it was syndicated, but I read it at USA Today (2). "Millennials aren't amoral and adrift" was da entertaining for me. It's been a while since I was touched/inspired/moved/had any kinda feeling at all (as opposed to opinion, I always have that) in music, songs, any art or any of the million gazillion articles that I read everyday. Not today.

Are things getting better or worse. Well, obviously it depends on which side of that line drawn in the sand that you stand on and if you think that metaphorical glass is half empty or half full. Millennials are way less likely to go to church than people my age and older. the numbers have been going down for quite some time and perhaps it is at a tipping point because "they" are talking about it so much. I think The New Atheist have something to do with this. Good job, peeps.

Whenevah I ponder the question I can't help but think that things are relative and everything just stays the same. Remember that old sayin' I overused years ago "the shores of the river bank constantly change, and yet it is always remains the shore of the riverbank, which is the same." So  maybe all older generations say of the younger generation stuffs like "yes, they are not as pious as we were," or the classic "kids nowadays are stupid".

"Kriss", you yell at me, "Butt-eye know some cool kids..in fact, I'm one of them."

Yea, whatevah...Anyhoo...One of the cool things about these people, not kids, that were born on or after 2000, is that they are down with the altruism. It's not just about them, their families and their country. They have concern about the environment, the economy, education, others, and dig this older people, they care about equality. They care about the world. Opposing LGBT marriage is so grandpa. Boys are better than girls, shut the fuck up man, this is not the 1950's (3).

Last week I talked about the hipster churches that are attempting to evolve from the ancient crusty "fire and brimstone" religious experience of us, our parents and their parents and how I believe that this is a move in a better direction. I still don't believe that Jesus is a 1/3'er (3)or end of times: but I will give them credit in the areas of fighting sexism (female clergy, contraception) and for LGBT rights/equality.

Googled "they eye of God." Seeeee, he has blue eyes.
Pastor Rob Bell introduced a kinder Christian experience with his book published last year that ponders a Christianity with no (concept of) hell. Bishop John Shelby Spong is a very vocal about revolutionizing the church he loves so much. Here, last week, I talked about the hipster churches fronted by hottie tatooed pastors (hello), church rock concerts and such. change is in the air and in the pews.

You know another reason why I think this thing is working. Just watch what the opposition is doing. Catholic bishops widened their war on women to include contraception, i think, because they feel threatened.  Don't believe the bull that they are fighting for religious liberty. They are fighting for the kinda tradition that I mentioned at the top o' da page, the wrong kinda tradition. Why is the Queen punching back over this particular row, cause she's scared. They are fighting to control women, entirely, because they have relinquished some of that in recent decades and it appears in the upcoming decades.

I Googled something like "stupid kids", or "how stupid are kids." This is for you, you know who you are.
Here in the states we may not be as secular as the UK, but since the arrival of The New Atheists, we have done good work and made great progress. Again, why is it important for me to see the drifting of youth to a more liberal religion than there parents and grandparents. With the move comes the liberal interpretation of that bible they keep talking about. Ever wonder why evangelicals hate on the super awesome Black Prez, the bible. They interpret it as literal and he goes Jefferson on it.

In the battle for secular society it is the extremist that is our opposition. It might be strange bedfellows to team up with liberal religion, but we have the same goals: LGBT, feminism, civil rights, equality, environment, change, evolution. Can we reason with extreme Islamists, or is there a line drawn in the sand. Will the abortion, and now contraception, debate ever be conclusively solved, or are their two polarized sides. I read last week the GOP voters are tired of social issue debates because the lines have been drawn and seemingly are so entrenched that compromise (not that I want that) is a fantasy.

This is why at this moment I feel things are getting better. It is also very sunny outside right now, and you guys know how I heart that.

* Does this post even make sense, I'll edit later. Going fer a walk to get some sun. Out.

(1) Wow, that is so lame. It WAS traditional to own slaves. It WAS traditional to beat your wife and/or children. If one does that now, they go to jail. Just because something is tradition does not automatically mean that that endeavor is correct or right or good. Lame.

(2) Tom wrote Onward Christian Athletes. It is a must read. It's about the infiltration of evangelicals in all of pro athletes. There are pastors-n-stuff inside clubhouses. If you don't believe in dominionism before reading this, well....

(3). The trinity, yo.

* Update: Atheist will outnumber Christians (I think in England) in 20 years. See, I told you.

This Is What Happens When I Take A Blog Break

I missed y'all this weekend (I took a break, again). Did I miss anything? Did we finally win, conclusively, the battle for secular society. No. Dammmmm. Well, here we go again, my pretties.

In Montgomery County, Maryland (wherevah that is. I'm Cali-centric) it seems that no one got the memos 1) keep your divisive religion to yo'sef and 2) it's OK to be teh gay. 8,000 innocent kids were sent home with an idiotic flyer that offers information (propaganda) sayin' "peeps are not BORN teh gay" and there is therapy for those with, get this, "unwanted same sex attraction." Holy fuckity fuck fuck. Where to start.

Kind gentle and (regular) goodlooking readers of the Six Pack Blog do not halfta guess what group (outta so many) insists on violating that separation of church and state the secularist keep talking about, that also claims to be able to "pray away the gay (1)." The Family Research Council (yes, THAT FRC). The title of their flyer says it all "Parents and friends of ex-gays and ex-gays." And when I say "says it all", I mean says the CRAZY.

They believe that teh gay behavior should be "criminalized," and that the LGBT lifestyle destroys hetero marriage (some how) and ultimately...society. Forget that half of hetero marriages end in divorce and that infidelity is rampant...those well dressed and cute looking boys are fuckin' it up for the world...and causing natural disasters.

Was there (some) outrage, yes. Will it stop? No. Why? It's the law.

*WTF am I talking about.

* If ya wanna start off yer' morning with WTF, then click PFOX

*I wanna tackle a different topic, soz I'm a gonna pull the switch.

* Why is it that I read about American schools in the Brit daily. Bad America, bad.

(1) They can "pray away" looking cute, adroable and muscular in small tight shirts. No.

Smokin' Teh Gay Weeds With Pat Robertson

If you have seen pho yer sef' or have heard reports of pigs flying...this is why. Pat "Gays bla bla bla" Robertson, myself and millions of other smart people are all on the same page. Yes it is true. That page that all the cool kids keep talking about, that page that everyone wants to be on, if one were to gaze upon it, right now it contains Pat and yours truly side by Christian side hugging-like buddies. Well, not really. Why?

I'll be bak...after I get some potato chips...and cheat on my wife (loser).
I'll tell ya why...'cause Pat said that we should decriminalize the weeds. Yes, Pat correctly stated on his show, The 700 Club, that we are putting too many youths in prison for the stupid head reason of smokin' the pots. He also says, and I agree with him again, that one may go into prison for weed possession, but they come out a hardened criminal. I agree, smoking the weeds is not a big deal and esp. in this time of strict budgets-n-such, we need to weed the prison population for practical fiscal reasons (I couldn't resist).

What is that you say, kind gentle and very goodlooking readers, "Kriss, yesterday you went to Reformed Hipster church and today you are siding up with...the enemy." Not true, so please do not revoke my atheist card, the card that I'am so proud to hold. Not by a long shot, peeps.

What can I say, I'm popular and well liked and I'm smarter than most people (and really humble). I live on the side of reason and the reason (I did it again) why is because it is the correct side to live on. Pat lives on this side...

I'm not gay, nor am I a bundle of sticks.
...9/11 is Gods way of punishing the states because we tolerate teh gay...hurricane Katrina was because of teh gay...if your spouse has Alzheimer's then you can do The Newt and divorce your suffering and loyal spouse because when you made that commitment before God (sickness and health) you were just kidding and finally, the latest if not the greatest of his eloquent social comments...the tornadoes that killed dozens last week in the South and Midwest was because not enuff people prayed. OK.

"If enough people were praying, He would intervene. You could pray. Jesus stilled the storm. You can still the storm," Pat.

Wow, where do I start on this one. First of all...prayer don't work fer shit. I'm sure there are times when one prays and randomly the desired result comes, but if you were to do the statistics on it, then God not answering said prayers would be way higher than when he (allegedly) does.

If God has a special plan for you, then how can a mere human change God's all mighty plan. If ones destiny is set, then all one can do is sit back and let the tornadoes kill everyone, so it doesn't matter how much and how many pray.

Last summer wildfires devastated Texas and Texas is one, if not thee, most pious state in the nation. I'm sure many peeps there prayed. They sure do hate their homos in Texas, they sure do blindly pray to the sky father, so where was God then.

I think it's a good thing that Pat said the obvious in that smoking the weeds should not result in prison. But that is when our agreeing ends. I live on the side of reason (because it is correct) and to believe that there is an all powerful sky father watching you and acting on your specific prayers (while wars and starvation wreak havoc in communities all around the world), is unreasonable.

We know why tornadoes happen (thanks science) and it is not because certain people have the sex with certain people and it certainly not because "X" amount of people did not pray to this all powerful and all knowing and all loving...God.

Thank you.

The New Documentary About Christianity That Will Make Us All Cringe

David gets straight A's, well liked, many friends...oh, but teh gay. OFF TO CAMP SINNER.
I ass-u-me that everyone saw the two super horrible (in content not quality) documentaries Lake of Fire and Jesus Camp, right. Well fuck you nonexistent God, there is a new one that we all must see...Kidnapped for Christ.

What can I say, it is exactly like it sounds. Rich evangelical parents that have children with discipline problems, like you know-teh gay-get sent to fuckin' Dominican Republic, to a boot camp type, err, camp.

Really, WTF are they doing, cleaning rocks. WTF.
This is how it goes down typically. The main subject, David, was awaken in the morning at his home, a belt was tied to his waist and he was led to a "transport vehicle." He was not told where he was going and when he got there, a place called Esceula Caribe, he was not told when he could leave.

I don't know if there are straight up beatings going on, but as you can see in the trailer, it is not a place one would volunteer to go to. Students are shown facing a wall at attention, doing pushups in the rain, running, something that looks like cleaning rocks (WTF) and of course the worse punishment of all...reading the fuckin' bible.

WWJCD...not this.
I guess there is something called the Troubled Teen Industry where camps like this are multiplying, growing and are, of course, unregulated. Read the article then scroll down to read Christians in denial say the stupid "This is not Christian behavior."

The film is in the editing phase and they are looking for donations to complete the project.

* Article w/trailer

* Web site Kidnapped for Christ

* Another trailer site with details on where to direct donations

* If you have not see Lake of Fire or Jesus Camp and you are on Team Atheist, youtube it and be shocked...veeerrrrrryyyyy shocked.
