Cells v Humans

The current Pope is so awesome. It must be nice to be a total expert in all the sciences, philosophy, economics, globalization, climate, the law, everything and specifically...stem cell research. I mean, I'm pretty smart, but I would never say I know cellular biology or genetics (aquatinted with sure, know, mmm, not so much). Maybe that's why I'm not the Pope.

Dr. Pope has recently reissued that Vatican stance on embryonic stem cell research that states...no. Yes, Phd in Genetics Da Pope said he doesn't want people destroying human lives (even tho it is not a human life) because it is morally wrong. Even tho the research has the potential to totally help humanity, that are living breathing and conscious human beings (not a cell), the Vatican's position is that the risk of killing a cell, a freekin' cell, is too much compared to helping and an untold amount of living breathing conscious humans: cell=not conscious, human=conscious. Go figure.
Pope Benedict said, "The destruction of even one human life can never be justified in terms of the benefit that it might conceivably bring to another." Once again, cell=unconscious and human-conscious. And is that the correct stance. he didn't read my post Would You Kill The Fat Man. Dugh.
We lose millions upon million of cells a day. Are all those the "human life" that Professor Pope calls "human life." What about when women have their monthly cycles, or every hair you lose, your toe nail clippings. Are we supposed to save those. Are we supposed to give those proper burials, after all, they are "potential" humans (and that technically would have been required if the recent Personhood crap passed in Mississippi. WTF).
This is not good, man. The Pope, if that is his real name, should not meddle in areas that are not of his expertise. Theist always get mad when we try and interpret scripture (whether one is qualified or not), so why can't we get mad when their boy does the same to us. Buddies, this isn't the Dark Ages, this is 2011. Aren't we better than this?

* Really, am I missing something because it looks to me that the official Vatican stance is that they prefer to save a cell, when we lose so many cells a day, everyday, than saving fully formed, conscious, and alive I guess is a good word, lives. Am I missing something?
