Don't Baptize Me When I Die...Or I'll Haunt You

I guess this could be "what's the harm" thingies, but really peeps...it's the principle. Those crazy, and I do mean crazy, Mormons are at it again baptizing the deceased of other denominations. Recently they got caught baptizing dead Jews, specifically the parents of Holocaust survivor, Simon Wiesenthal (then after, they apologized because it is so stupid wrong). Well, guess who is Mormon now, even tho she is dead...yea, how'd ya guess...Anne "Freekin" Frank, yes, that Anne Frank.

"Plug your dam nose kid and shut the fuck up already."
Researcher Helen Radkey, who also busted the Mormon church for those other super freekish baptisms, also revealed this one. She said that Anne's name was in the records of the Santo Domingo Temple in the Dominican Republic around Feb 18th-ish. Who cares about that shit...why. Why the fuck would someone do this?

There is a great article on Slate that addresses this, but of course I can't (not willing) find it. That's OK, right, because I have my mighty born and raised in Northern California stoner brain (the brain that automatically plays "Exodus" by Bob Marley in the background from the time I wake, till the time I...switch songs). Here is what I remember (and some stuff that I'll just make up)...

Elie, c'mon man...you didn't age well (and I'm a total arse-hole).
I do believe that it was in one of Hitch's book/article where he was going on and on about how selfish it is for a selfish adult to insist that a poor innocent (atheist) baby have the bacteria filled, so called holy water, sprinkled upon their crying heads to...sooth the adults around said baby. Just like the innocent atheist baby, the dead Jews have no choice in the matter. Even tho I cannot come up with a super specific example of this happening upon ones deathbed, I'm totally confident that many times thru-out history that a selfish individual has taken it upon themselves to have their dying homie sprinkled with the holy bacteria water (selfish I tell ya) to save them.

I ass-u-me that all the denominations that sprinkle the water do so because it is a prerequisite to get into that specific heaven that that specific belief offers. It's quite nobel for a homie, upon your death, while you are so weak you cannot say "no" or "yes", to insist a holy man, a man of the cloth, do the sprinkle upon your weak self...except that it is totally selfish for one to do so on ones weak and suffering behalf, no matter how nobel the intention.

I'd fuck Anne, she's kinda hot, right...right(?). It's a  compliment. Sheez.
I mentioned a while while back that I believe my genetic family to be so controlling and selfish, that upon my untimely and certainly early departure, that they would Shang-Hi my dead atheist body and have a religious ceremony in a different town from where my family of friends live, and have a religious ceremony comfortable in distance to THEIR lives and beliefs.

As I review the early demise of my Hero, Hitch, I cringe at the thought of religious types selfishly insisting in all the moments up to his not greatly exaggerated demise that he repent and/or have that holy man sprinkle that water upon his dying atheist head. I believe that the dying peep has precedence over all in this situation. Nobel or not (not) a living well intentioned person cannot selfishly impose their will upon the soon to be departed-well, unless one is full of religious conviction and self righteousness. If that is the case then all rational goes out the door and the will of the divine "clairvoyantly" supersedes any mere idea of a simpole human, dying or not.  Or as I say...selfish.

In Soviet Russia, baby baptize...you.
I don't even want to give the benefit of the doubt to the intentions of those selfish Mormons that posthumously enroll a new members to their "click". The person is dead, you do not know what they want, you did not ask them and you probably do not even care (you only care about what you and your religion wants). Just because a person is so selfish as to initiate , and succeed in doing so, a dead person into their ranks is not cause for celebration. I don't care that an individual doing this horrible, and not at all noble, deed has the best intentions: "but I wanted to save their soul," "they will live forever now, in heaven," "they will now be reunited with those they love and (our specific) God." I don't care...it's selfish I tell ya.

This is one of the many reasons why a dude like c'est moi becomes an atheist in the first place-the controlling. Isn't that one of the golden rules in every culture and every belief...don't fuck with the dead peeps. If it is not, then it should be.

If the worry or concern is the persons happiness in the afterlife, then we should baptize said person in all the religions of the whole world, right.  That way all the bases will be covered. Or we can go secular afterlife style and, here's a great idea everyone....not baptize any dead people.

It's just an idea, yo.

Erin, I Googled "baptize" and this came up. This one is fer you, buddy.

All Hail The King, Or Not

I'll start off with a joke (and after yesterday, I need it)...What is Bishops Eddie Long's porn name...Eddie Long (rimshot).

"This scroll gives me the power to fuck boys with no recourse-n-shit."
Contrary to simple minded belief, most atheists don't hate religion, in fact we find religion very fascinating, like mythology and folklore, that is one of the reasons why we study it so much. Then again, I guess it depends on what religion we are talking about. If we are talking about do good religion that is unselfish, a religion where some kinda higher power, sumthin' more than humanity, something for mere humans to aspire to for the sake of good and goodness, then I can go for that (I don't believe in that, but it's better than the alternative). If we are talking about the Prosperity Gospel (God wants you to be rich) and the *alleged* boy fucker and abuser of power and trust, the Bishop Eddie Long, then fuck that shit.

I was a gonna take today off, that is until I saw the "promotion" of the Bishop. The Bishop Eddie Long, lawsuits and allegations, divorce and all, has bee promoted to...King. Yes, it's true, the King Eddie Long. I watched the video as long as I could but quite frankly, it was so full of bullshit that my simple atheist/skeptic brain went into overdrive and exploded.

"I out rake you Mr President...I'm the King. Wait hold on..Oh that was Elvis, he said I'm the King, baby."
I've always wonder how one become a pastor, a bishop and now King. Really, these clergy types also have Phd's in front of their names. Did they go to an accredited college and get a Phd. in theology or biblical studies...NO. Someone I know has a Phd. in front of their name (and last time I saw dude, he did not). I suspect that the "degree" was bought, plain and simple. It would be the coolest thing to have a Phd. in science, that would mean that you contributed to the whole of knowledge. You struggled for many years to make a discovery, to uncover something that was unknown at one time and you added to what is known. Phd. in religion...I dunno. To become royalty in religion...deff. not. Any who...

What I did see of the video was that a *scholar* got a 300 y/o scroll and because he presented it to Bishop Long...that makes him King. OoooKkkaaayyyyy. First of all a 300 y/o scroll is not that old considering that Christianity is supposedly 2,000 years old. The presenter make the fallacious pseudoscience claim that "most Jews wouldn't even get this close to an ancient scroll." Ok so what. That doesn't mean squat. He said that usually this (the scroll presentation) is reserved for cities. Dude really made it seem like the promotion of the boy fucker, err, Bishop Eddie Long was ordained by God. WTF. Besides that, it is super super weirdo for four grown men to carry and lift the boy fucker, err, I mean the Bishop, into the air on a thrown with the stupid scroll and a ridiculous hat (what's up with clergy and their super lame hats. yuck).

OK...I'm wandering (my brain power right now is not very powerful). This dude, the King is a multi-millionaire. He has luxury cars, private jets and loads of straight up cash. Look at his suits, they are probably more than a years salary for me. He *settled* with the men that he abused both physically and trust wise, which tells us that he didn't want to go to court for boy fucking. And his wife pretty recently filed for divorce. OK, I do believe in redemption of some sort and forgiveness. I'm not talking about the boy fucker right now...I'm talking about the congregation.

But why would you. You are supposed to be a man of peace. After all, are you not innocent.
Look at how packed his church is. Soooo full of well dressed believers that subscribe to the belief that God wants you to be rich. Have they already forgiven him (because to forgive him is to be closer to God and the closer one is, the more one makes, right). What about the abused men. I have not seen any reports about the well being of the men and in fact the only things that I have read about them is from members of the congregation that claim the men are "gold diggers." Gold diggers, really. I thought they were just people who trusted an authority figure and they were manipulated into having sex from someone they totally trusted...then thrown to the curb.

I wanna say that this is NOT Gods love, but one only hasta study religion for a little bit to admit...This IS Gods love.

Long live the King.

* Article Watch the video and be totally creeped out...I mean totally.

Real Knowledge Plus God Equals...

This is the fucker that took me down. If you were any older, son, I'd kick your ass. In fact...go get your dad, boy.
The only good thing to come outta having that violent puking that happens when you eat something that is not quite right is that your six pack feels so tight the next day. Other than that, like the horrible watering of the mouth right before you puke, the puking while people are walking by, the dude rolling up on you asking over and over "are you all right, are you all right (shut the fuck up dude. I appreciate it and all, but can't you see I'm puking. It's really selfish of you to want me to stop puking just so I  can answer you. Just sayin.'), the realization that nothing is coming out, because everything already left your stomach, the sweating right after and, well, you guys know...right. Any who....

Atheist don't plus one.
I'm going to go all stream of hazy consciousness on this one today, feeling kinda weak right now. Ritt Momney's good twin brother, the one that wants to win the contest to be the one to lose in the up coming election against super awesome Black Prez, is down with the foreveah judge, God, and his after the fact laws. Forget that his God and Prophet are different than the American Christian God, as an atheist, when I read stuffs like this...all I see is God.

"Don't claim equality as that gift from God and then go around and say, "Well, we don't have to pay attention to what god wants us to do.We don't have to pay attention to God's moral laws. If your rights come from God, then you have an obligation to live responsibly in conforming in God's laws, and our Founding Fathers said so, right." Mitt Romney and his fantastic underwear.

Maybe they are just doing "alternative Chinese medicine."
I call this the plus one. The believers plus one. It's an add on...after the fact. It's an unneeded attachment that doesn't help anything. After all God hasta be in injected in there somewhere. Take any explanation for anything, look at all the (real) work that goes into it , then inject the "explanation" of God at the end (1). Look atheist, forget that things like reciprocal altruism, sharing, kindness, helping peeps, Team Spirit, relationships etc...all happened naturally (evolution of group behavior thru natural selection) back in the day when our ancestors went form individual lame-oz to hunter gather'ers and then agriculture peeps. Forget that shit, "God did it."

Equality is not a gift from that invisible God that believers insist we believe in. What is equality anyway, a revolution from oppression of one to to the demanding of *equality*, then eventually the acceptance and practice of said equality. I don't see God there. I see an "idea" that thru human effort, came to fruition. Of course you can always add God, inject God into this or anything, at the end.

Humans for all our faults-n-stuff are still very amazing. For example, we have the capacity for love, great super loving love. We can choose to plus one God into that equation after the fact, but we don't need to. Because hella time has passed and we have that evolved human brain, humans have developed ethics, morals, rulez to live by and rulez to NOT live by. We know what is right and what is wrong, and by golly, we do not need to plus one a great surveillance camera in the sky, a judge and jury, a ghost or a warden, an oppressor, into the equation where humans already have the answer.

(1). How are babies born (insert all the knowledge about reproduction, all the medical stuffs here), then plus one God at the end. How do the tides work, why is the sky blue, why do families look alike, how come the Denver Broncos made it to the playoffs, any question with an answer that involves real knowledge that is based in the physical and material world we live in, a world that adheres to the concepts and principles of physics and chemistry, then place God at the end of the answer as if that is equal in explaining the mechanisms of how things work. That is the plus one.

* Oopsie, I made a mistake. I'm really really "hazing" if i'm making this one. It was not Underwear that made that quote, it was jizz, dookie and whatever else oozing outta my butt. My bad everyone.

Butt Hurt In Colorado

Oops, we did it again. That is we went all atheist and human and expressed our belief/views and guess what...they got mad. This simple billboard has caused an uproar in Colorado.

I'm getting really tired of this crap-ola. We did not insult anyone, they chose to allow themselves to be all butt hurt. The Colorado Coalition Of Reason wants to let other atheists in Colorado know that they are not alone and also to open channels for dialogue. It seems simple enuff, but we are dealing with irrational religion, folks.

I've said it a million times and I will keep sayin' it until the cows come home or whatevah that sayin' is. The time for religious privilege is over, over I tell you. We are called militant atheists but we carry no weapons (I guess you can throw a book at someone), meanwhile God's American Christian army has killed many and is killing many right now. Wars are fought in the name of Gawd, but never not once in the name of atheism.

Believers are insulted that we call their God imaginary, but there has never been proof that a God, any of the many Gods, exist. Belief is based on faith and any thinking person should be insulted that they are expected to believe in an invisible God when it goes against...reason.

The peeps in Colorado do not want to take away anyone's faith...they just want believers to stop shoving it down their throats.

Good luck mountain, homies.

Secular Boots Up Yer Arse

If you look up the definition of Christian double speak...this case in Wilmington, Delaware should be right there, bro-skies. I don't know what else to call it. Perhaps, cake and eating it to, or my classic "WTF", or the good ol' "now I've seen everything." Here's the short of it.

Some really cool peeps want the Sussex County Council to stop sayin' the Lord's Prayer before meetings. Very stupidly they protested (of course, after all this is God's America) and all they could come up with is the super lame (say this in an exasperated, frustrated and childish voice)..." BUT IT'S TRADITION (1)." Of course to adults like you and I, that is not the passing of that mustard the cool kids mention from time to time. So they came up with something better...and by better I mean "Come on Christian, you're making all the good cool Christians that are smart and normal look stupid. Sheez."

It's so dumb-head I'm probably gonna get it wrong, but it goes like this...The Lords Prayer, you know "Our father who art in heaven...", is not a Christian prayer, because Jesus was a Jew and at that time Christianity as we know it today simply did not exist...therefore it is OK that we continue sayin' the Lord's Prayer before meetings. Now go away you mean secularists....why are you guys still here.

Ya know, kind gentle and very good looking readers, I was raised Catholic and I said the Lord's Prayer all the time and it is my humble opinion that the prayer called The Our Father is totally...Christian.
WTF. Really?

Let's run down this quickly....It comes from the Christian New Testament, you halfta say hella them after confession (plus Hail Marry's and not the football variety)...oh fuck it, let's check out the actual prayer.

It starts...Our (Christian) Father, who art in heaven (that the Christian god allegedly created), Hallowed be thy name (because you are the Christian God and Jesus and a ghost at the same time), Thy kingdom (America?) come, thy will will be done on earth (that the Christian God also created), As it is in heaven (that is only for white Christians, no Joo's, or Moo-slums, and deff. no super hot and smart atheists). OK now that I read it like this I guess it's not a Christian prayer...NOT.

I Googled "dumb head" and this came up.
Still, they claim that the prayer is *generic* (even tho it comes from the Gospel of Matty-Ice, that's Matthew). Really, I feel sorry for all the good, normal and not stupid Christians out there. In fact, c'mon y'all...regulate yourselves...otherwise Team Secular is a gonna halfta put some boots on...and ya know where that goes (2).

(1). The ...but it's tradition excuse/reasoning is so dumb-head. Just because something is *tradition* doesn't mean it's correct. It used to be tradition to hit kids in school, or you wife. Slavery was a *tradition* all around the world...so there. Fuck you're tradition.

(2) Up your cheating and unfair butt.

* In case it's not burned into your memory...The Lord's Prayer.

Hey Atheists, Let's Party

Wow...the National Atheist Party...that has a cool ring to it. When I first started this crazy no pay, lot's of hours, did I say no pay...atheist blogging (2y/rs ago) I used to talk a lot about "a place at the political table," and secular society stuffs. And honestly, as of late I've made this place less about information and more about me me me (so there). Any who, we still don't have that place at that table I used to talk about all of the time. Or do we...

Troy "I must be a really cool dude" Boyle is the co founder of The National Atheist Party ( NAP). He got the idea when he was watching Richard "Papa Bear" Dawkins. Papa Bear questioned why, why on gods green earth (he didn't say that, I did), why is there NOT an organized political atheist party. Boyle stepped up to the plate.
What does NAP stand for. Ya know just that no government sponsored religion, or non religion, that secularists keep talking about. You see, kind gentle and very good looking readers, there is a war going on. Dominionism is real (even tho they claim it is not) and dagnabit federal money IS going to religious institutions and one must have religion to run for office (even tho the rules say otherwise). There are believers out there that want to rewrite history to say that the Founding Fathers absolutely do want the bible taught in public schools and that there is no law above Gods law (that's you constitution).

So awesome sauce to this Boyle dude for getting the ball rolling. Just like anything new, the numbers are small right now, but that is OK. Our numbers were small before The Four Horsemen and the New Atheist popped onto the scene and look at us now (is it true that this year has been dubbed The Year of the Atheist). It takes one to stand for the rest to follow and that is what we should do peeps.

You can start by liking them on Facebook.

Will Not Throw Shit For Beer And Laughter

I'm not very laugh-y laugh-y lately, it's more like "Hey how come this isn't going my way or working (then I throw shit, like my fists)." So when I can remember that laughter that Robert
Plant mentioned in that documentary, not only do I have to embrace it...I have to go back to it and mine it over and over again (and when the feeling is gone, I go back to throwing shit.).

LoL God is made of the funny. I'm sure I've mentioned it before. Good stuffs peeps. Do yo' sef' a favor and go there and have a laugh. What you say, but Kriss, it's not scholarly. Kind gentle and very good looking readers, I know that and that is even more reason to go (me, I can read back to back essays on boring as shit that is so boring. it's OK to have a laugh once in a while.). Like this gem...

...or sometimes...it is thought provoking...

...and yet, other times, that science-y science comes into play. what is more awe inspiring than this statement.

I may be wrong on this one (after all there are so many atheist bloggers out there), but I do believe that Andy at Laughing in Purgatory (click the link in my sidebar and go directly there. UR welcome Andy) was having one of those debate/conversations last week-ish about using satire, or humor, or even ridicule to get our point across. One dude was saying, "No man, it's disrespectful" while Andy said, "It is effective." I believe it's effective.

Cartoons, editorials, photoshop, Lol Cats, anything, anytime, is a good and great vehicle to our point across. You have silly beliefs in a Gawd that is improbable, and as the sayin' goes...you guys know the rest.

Have a laugh atheist, you deserve it.

The Not Necessarily Religion News Roundup

"We support boy fuckers, we support boy fuckers..."
What is up with my numbers. It's like down by 100 hits. Y'all need to help me spread the gospel of the six pack. Tell all the super hottie atheist/skeptic ladies over 30, about that really epic guy that is developing his own writing style and is, without a doubt...the most humble person you can ever meet (Ghandi thinks I'm humble, so there). Any who...

Penn St. officials finally did the correct thing and fired their head football coach known as Jo-Pa. Here's the nutshell. THERE WAS BOYFUCKING, ERR, RAPING GOING ON WHEN HE WAS IN CHARGE, HE KNEW ABOUT IT AND HE DID NOT REPORT IT TO THE POLICE. So much for what could have been the most regarded tenure in sports history. I mean freekin' shit, peeps are comparing Penn St. to the Catholic church (if someone did that to me, there'z-a-gonna be some fighting goin' on). I actually dunno if Penn St. is a religious school (are they, are they?), but I do know that all the idiots that "protested", err, rioted when they heard that Coach "I Allow Boy Fucking On My Shift" Jo-Pa had been fired, are exactly like the losers that cover up for Boy Fuckin' Priests-n-such.

Fo sho I'm one of those know it all skeptics and a very proud member of Team Atheist...but that doesn't mean I'm totally rational all of the time. Par example, I haven't watched any 49'ers games this season and that is something I have done (that is watch the games, all of them) since I was a little kid. If you are Filipino growing up in the Bay Area, you WILL be Catholic, you WILL be a 9'ers fan and you will see a therapist later in life. But dagnabit, wouldn't ya know it, the one season I decide to not be a fanatical fan, then my freekin' team is in first place. Sports fans (and players) are allllllll about the stupidstition, so ya know what that means....if I watch a game and they lose, then it's my fault (and if you don't understand that, fo sho I can't explain it to you. That's what a fan is...fanatical.). Go Niner's.

Coach of the year.
Gov. "Pray for rain" Perry went Sarah Palin last nite and "misspoke" (if you will notice, I have, only GOP'ers and Christian wingnuts "misspeak". Really, I'm keeping stats on it. Like Roger Clemens). GOP'ers are all about small government and when asked what three departments would he cut, Gov. Rainmaker couldn't name the third one. Oopsie. It doesn't matter, he's not gonna win anyways...I hope.

Good week for pro-libs at the ballot box, esp. in Mississippi and their really dumb personhood amendment. I have mentioned it many times here, but, it is really stupid pants to fight the same fights over and over again (scopes monkey trial, Roe v. Wade, creationism v. science etc..). The thing about it is, we have to fight those fights. If this bill was passed it would have erased many of the gains in the feminists and reproductive rights movements. We won this time, but what I would like to see in the future is the statistics on how many humans God kills. He's responsible for everything, right. There are way more miscarriages than abortions, therefore God kills more babies. Women go thru their cycle every month and all those lost or unused cells ARE humans right (according to their philosophy), so God, once again, kills hella humans, right. I think so.

Finally, a Tibetan Buddhist leader to his peeps "Stop lighting yo'sef on fire. There must be another way." Well said, my bald Asian brother.

This is the article I read the other day and I started a post...but I'm too dumb to finish it. My question is...Is Quantum Theology the same as Christian Theology, or what the hell is it. It sounds a lot like The Tao of Physics kinda stuffs. Maybe by this weekend I'll figure it out. Maybe.

This is that new docc. all the cool atheist/skeptic kids are talking about The Fabric of the Cosmos. I do believe that it answers the question of the day from last week (what is in empty space, or is that even possible), but honestly, I was watching it last nite and I got stoned and I didn't understand it. Cool graphics tho.

Oh buddies...oh, buddies. Before krissthesexyatheist, at one time in this baddass life o' mine, when I was studying martial arts, I was more like "Chris the guy that believes in Complimentary Alternative Medicine (CAM). When I read this the other day I just thought it was cool. Unbeknownst to me there is an epic battle over wild ginseng. They can bring in tons of money and in Korea it supports an industry that pays top dollar for the yucky tasting and no medical value root. Thanks LA Times.

Lastly, yes kind gentle and very good looking readers all good things come to an end, stay at home, uneducated and really stupid moms, as reported by the LA Times, have been using Facebook to transfer viruses over the mail. Back in the day there wuz this thing called chicken pox parties but now you can get chicken pox in the privacy and connivance of your own home. These stupid mothers are having other stupid mothers-with infected kids, lick loli pops, send it thru the mail and then...well, you know. I wrote about it the other day.

Well peeps, that is all for now. It is super sunny here in Sac Town, could be warmer tho, but still...I can't complain.

Lates.

Why Lite Yo' Self On Fire. Why Why Why.

Ok I was lying in bed this morning and listening to NPR when I heard the news that a 10th Buddhist monk set himself on fire-self immolation. So WTF, why would a person do that. Is it one of those things that Team Atheist would say that religion is what motivates people to do extreme things...or are there environmental factors that cause this and these people just happen to be religious.

First of all a little background. The Tibetan Buddhist monks are all pissed because the Chinese government will not let them freely practice their Buddhism. There is something about they have to go to conditioning schools or state schools and learn patriotism, the correct patriotism, if they wanna be a monk or nun. The Chinese government exiled their boy, the Dali Lama-yes, that Dali Lama, and Tibetans in general do not get treated equally in Chinese society; they get their power and water cut, no opportunities, ya know, general oppression of a minority group stuffs. OK, that's the ado.

"The self-immolations have set off a cycle of martyrdom and protest, inspiring demonstrations from New Delhi to Taipei. Tibetan blogs have filled with poems to the dead. The Dalai Lama, who lives in Dharamsala, India, led a day of prayer and fasting Wednesday (LA Times)."

This totally reminds me of the Tunisian fruit vendor that started the Arab Spring. Dude was super frustrated at the lack of opportunities and because his living condition was so dookie...he set himself on fire. Talk about "martyrdom" and "protest"...three countries have fallen since then. Don't forget, the fruit vendor is Islamic, right. But was religion the main component in making that decision, or is it the environment, the living conditions and the oppression.

No one oppresses pandas. They're too cute.
"The ritual suicides, he added, are a sign that young Tibetans are moving away from the Dalai Lama's teachings about nonviolence (LA Times)."

Here's a thought, I'll just throw it out there (and I dunno where I'm really going with this). What if this is the secular/atheist landscape and  mindset that religious people keep warning everyone about. Less God in the public square, as they warn us, will result in lack of morals and ethics and a decline of a civilized society. The younger generations, of all countries, are less religious than those before them. So could it be that the fruit vendor was not devout enuff (or was it environment) and the 10 monks strayed away from the Dali Lamas teachings of nonviolence, do not hurt others and do not hurt yourself. Could be, maybe...no.

"He has always said that people should not harm themselves or others," Anand said of DJ Lama, "People respect him, but they are frustrated and they want to protest (LA Times)."

Which brings me back to...Are these people oppressed and beat down so much and so badly that the only sensible thing to do is frackin' lite yo' sef on fire. Really, it get's that bad. That is so bad. Really bad. Or is it...

"The self-immolations of the eight young monks were revolutionary acts of ultimate sacrifice to rouse the Tibetan people to action, in much the way as Mohammad Bouazizi's (the fruit vendor) self-immolation woke up the oppressed people of the Middle East from many, many decades of fear, apathy, cynicism and weariness," Jamyang Norbu, a prominent Tibetan radical, wrote on his blog this month (LA Times).

Or is it a combination of all of the above. And here's what I 'm getting at...Is religion a factor,  no matter how big or small, in the motivation to lite yourself on fire. What's that sayin'...people do bad things anyways, but it takes religion for people to do really super bad and horrible things.

One last thought. The Chinese goverment is officially atheist (right?), so are they oppressing the Tibetan monks/people in the name of atheism or do they just happen to be a government that is f-ing up some minority peeps and they happen to be atheist. In all fairness...it goes both ways.

* Fo sho I believe in my heart that we need a MORE secular society, not a less SS.

* LA Times

* Dali Lama on NPR

* 10th Monk

* If I can make a joke, the #OWS'ers should start lighting themselves on fire. OK, I tried to make a funny. Any who...

What Is "Bugnutty" Anyways?

 Bugnut: crazy, insane, flipped out.
Useage: Did you see what happened? Dude went all bugnut/bugnutty.

The Big Guy really fudged up this time. No I'm not talking about Gawd, I'm talking about the big guy part of the comedian duo Penn and Teller (Penn Jillette is the Waaaayyyyyy bigger of the two). What did he do...he wrote an opinion piece in the LA Times. Why is that a big deal-eo, because "they" got mad. Why did "they" get mad, because dude called them "bugnuts" and "bugnutty." So WTF.

In the piece called Politics and the bugnut Christians, the Big Guy talks about how all politicians need to court the whole populations vote. If politicians were to rely on, let's say, only their religions vote, then they would never be elected because no one religion dominates the landscape that much. Pretty decent piece that breaks down some numbers-n-stuff and it is worth a looksie. But in the letters to the editor, the subject, ya know the actual topic of the piece, is not even mentioned.

Some of the Christian readers are all butt-hurt over the Big Guy calling politicians like Perry and Bachmann "bugnutty". They pulled out the "you would never say that about Jews or Muslims" card or the "that is unacceptable" card and even the "hey man, I'm liberal and I'm still butt-hurt" card. I'm gonna pull out the I don't know what they are complaining about card.
Perry and Bachmann believe in American Exceptionalism and subscribe to that dominionism that even mainstream media has been talking about lately. If those beliefs are not insane, weird and peculiar, then I dunno what "bugnutty" is. The Big Guy didn't say anything like it is totally weirdo to believe that Christians believe that the original hippie, that's Jesus, was 1/3 human, God and ghost (again, if that is not "bugnutty" then I don't know what is. quite bizzare dontcha think). He did mention that he thought is was "bugnutty" for Bachmann to believe that natural disasters are a way that the Great Surveillance Camera in the Sky communicates to his peeps. Again..."bugnutty."
I think it is "bugnutty" for "them" to get all butt-hurt about an opinion piece in a mainstream newspaper. I guess "they" didn't get the memo that the New Atheists have arrived, we are here to stay and we have advanced "the conversation." The free pass for religion has been voided. For centuries religion has enslaved the brown peeps and went all sexism on the ladies. "They" have stifled the advancement of science and are responsible for this thing called the Dark Ages. Wars, both past and present, are fought in the name of God and countless have been straight up murdered in his name. What did the Big Guy funny man do...call them a name. Grow fuckin' up.

Team Atheist ya know what I'm gonna say right...If they don't want to be made fun of for having silly beliefs, then stop having silly beliefs.

Freethought Day in Sac Town

Dan, it's me Kriss. does your wife have any sisters. Really, bro, hook it up.
As I have said before, I'm a Lone Wolf atheist. Because my environment is already atheist-y, I don't feel the need to play with the other atheists. I'm certainly not against it, esp. if you live in the south, the bible belt, Utah or pretty much anywhere else that is not Nor Cal (and I have also said, if you don't live in Nor Cal, you don't live anywhere. sorry). That being said, there is a groovy atheist-y event happening in super sunny Sac Town.

This Sunday, Rock-tober 23rd, will be the 10th annual Sacramento Freethought Day. My first thought is, "There were nine previous ones?" My second thought, and I haven't said this in a while-because I've been all depression-y and dealing with my own stuffs-is...get out there you wonderful atheists. Sure since the emergence of the Mighty New Atheists, or as I like to call ourselves, Team Atheist, many myths and stereotypes of who and what atheists are have gone down the poo poo tube; and yet, there is still much work to be done.

One of the speakers is Dan Barker and I totally want to meet him (and ask his hottie wife if she has any sisters). One of the myths about atheists and how we become atheists is that we never had true faith (whatever the fuck that is). The myth goes we never understood the mind of God or that we never practiced the true Christianity (which is totally BS). Mr Barker, in case ya don't know, is an ex preacher, minister type. He had a flock at one time and got down with his baddass Christian self and sang xtian songs and played guitar. It is quite audacious for a lay believer (with there stupid head limited and childlike knowledge) to say that a learned person with degrees in divinity, that went to seminary, that answered the call, is not and was not a true Christian. (If I go) I'd love to meet Dan and pick his brain a 'lil bit.

There is a whole list of speakers like the guy that always sues the government for the Christian pledge of allegiance, Michael Newdow. And it seems like there can never ever ever be a freethought event in Sac Town without the very funny funny-ness of Keith Jensen. Way too many thingies to mention, I'll just say that it looks like an event worth going to. Whether I go or not, that is a different thingy.

But you, ya I'm talking to you bible belt atheist, not out atheist or nonexistent heaven forbid, lonely atheist...get you arse out there and let's prove them wrong.  Awesome sauce.

Praying 24/7

Oh frackin' joy. It's gonna be a long fuckin' day. Any who...prayer doesn't work, there have been scientific experiments that come to that conclusion, people that pray in public (or private for that matter) look crazy to me, remind me about the "pencil theory" and yes, I'm in a bad mood. But don't tell IHOP that prayer doesn't work (it wouldn't matter anyways-cognitive dissonance much) because then their 24/7 prayer fest will all be for NOT.

At the International House of Prayer (IHOP) in Kansas City, Mo they have been praying 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for a hella long time (Sepr 1999). Pray tell, why (I couldn't resist)? Well, of course to "save business, media and government from evil." Yes, fuckin' EVIL. Yes, we are like four years old...we are going to pray, or as Team Atheist calls it-wishful thinking to your self-because there are evil forces at work in the physical world that we live in (fuckin' stupid and childish, really).
Yea buddy, 12 years of nonstop praying and/or Jesus-y music (yuck) that to my surprise attracts many people from all over the world: Britain to S. Korea. You would think it would be hard to get peeps to "pray" the early morning shifts, but people change their schedules and make the commitment...what is the commitment again..."push back evil forces that threaten to overwhelm society." From my super smart and intelligent and far superior atheist perspective, the only threat I see is from da da daaa...THEM.
Wouldn't ya know it, these 24/7 prayer weirdos are associated with the dominionism and the NAR that the atheist blogosphere keeps talking about. That splinter cell of Christianity (and yet very vocal and powerful) whether it's called Charismatic, evangelical, the house on the hill, dookie poo poo, what freekin' ever it's called, wants to take over all parts of secular society. They literally want to infiltrate the government, public schools, universities, every fuckin' thing and inject their particular God to the forefront, front and center in the most prominent way possible.

IHOP was recently involved in that prayer rally for that Texas Governor that was all controversial back in August (it's Rick Perry in case you couldn't guess). I'll say it again and again fellow atheist peeps...This is what we are up against. Does anyone think that IHOP is playing by the rules of a separate church and state-I don't.

Their headquarters is an old mall (and I'm guessing that to buy an entire mall isn't cheap). They also own an entire apartment complex to house the frackin' students and teachers of their frackin' university (bible college) and there are plans to purchase 125 acres so they can build a 100 million dollar church there. WTF, I thought there was a recession/depression goin' on.
IHOP's army of mindless soldiers for Christ take pride in doing what they call the nite shift (11pm-5am). Participants are expected to pray for the equivalent of a part time job (25 hours a week) and 25 bands a week each play 2 hour sets. That is a tremendous amount of effort, week in and week out. So what the frack' are these weirdos praying for.

Founding Pastor Mike Bickle, "It's completely within view right now. If I was a betting man, I'd bet it would happen in the life of two years olds." Of course the pastor is referring to da da daaa...THE END OF THE WORLD. Yes, Rapture, the bad 'ol end of times. That is why they are praying 24/7 week after week. And WTF, where did he get "two year olds". Really, it seems like he pulled that number outta his ass. Any who...

This is the kicker (I know the whole thing has been a kicker). What differentiates IHOP (which btw, is a horrible horrible acronym) from the other loony end of times, religions of peace, is that instead of God destroying the erffs and taking his select and elite and small amount of peeps to cloudville, the saved will remain here on earth.

If that doesn't show that religion is totally made up and fakey fake, then I dunno what does show that....and yes, I'm pissed toady.

* Super good article in the always containing atheist/religious content The Mighty LA Times

* Fuck you and fuck you again. In fact go fuck your self and when you are done doing that go fuck yourself some more....and have a nice weekend.

* It's looking like the transformation to angry atheist is happening...or not.

* Friendly Atheist

Working Both Sides

Honestly, for a while growing up I thot I wuz Japanese. I didn't know what a Filipino was/is.
O yea, ready for some super vague-y vague-ness reporting and commentary that may or may not make sense...too bad. I wanna say "kettle" and "black" again but I've said that too often the past couple of months. But what can ya expect, after all, we are dealing with religion, ya know, that thing that Team Atheist says is synonymous with "making sense", right(?).

What is that really good Kurosawa movie when the samurai works both gangs and instead of him killing all of them, or being killed him self, he gets them to kill each other-and then he gets paid on top of that (what a frackin' baddass). It was the inspiration for that Clint Eastwood movie, I believe it was called-and fo sho I've been wrong before, A Few Dollars More. Any who...

Team Atheists' mbff, Bill Donohoe has responded to the stupid that the Rev. Robert Jeffress has been saying as of late. In case your are not a prog-lib, atheist, skeptic, nerd, political junkie, baddass, then let me fill ya in. The Rev-J said the stupid last weekend when he went all "Mormonism is a cult" blast. There is way more, must remember to finish this one (1).

So our good friend Bill, president of the Catholic League, responded to Rev-J's dumb dumbheadedness with...
"Where did they find this guy? When theological differences are demonized by the faithful of any religion—never mind by a clergyman—it makes a mockery of their own religion. Rev. Jeffress is a poster boy for hatred, not Christianity (Catholic League Newletter Home, Ya I read that. Dontcha?).

Wow Bill, hate much. That was not a very Christian-y comment. That last statement is what we have been sayin' about Bill for a very long time, err, our good friend Bill. Oh did I mention that the Rev-J called Bill's religion "the outgrowth of a "corruption"called the "Babylonian Mystery". Wow again. I don't even know what those words in that order means, but I sure know me some fightin' words when I hear 'em. Those are fighting words. Wait there's more. This is religion, there is always more hate.
Rev-J...

“Much of what you see in the Catholic Church today doesn’t come from God’s word. It comes from that cult-like pagan religion. Isn’t that the genius of Satan (CLN)."

Oh no he didn't. Wait did I mention that the Rev-J is one of those evangelical Christians (I forget which one, the one that spreads hate and intolerance) that believes that they practice the one true religion and everyone else practices Satanism, or something like that. So kind gentle and very goodlooking readers, you can see why our good friend Bill went off with his "Where did they find this guy" blast. So epic on both sides...the hate that is.

I dunno, this atheist is content to sit back and watch both sides go back and forth, lobbing hateful comments and then responding to the response of an earlier lobbed hateful comment. I'm sure I've mentioned this a million gazillion times, but classic military strategy, the one move, basic fighting principles 101, if you don't know this, you don't know squat...divide and conquer. Hell, I would like to participate, err, I dunno, maybe talk some shit and do the "Hey Bill, wanna know what Rev-J said about you." You know stoke the fire a little, enuff so that both organizations and philosophies go at it and eventually burn into nothingness.

Oh in a perfect world. Until then, I'm a gonna watch them battle like one watches a tennis match, and yes...I will enjoy it.

(1). Rev-J also blasted Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism as "false religions." And this morning I read an article where some separate church state peeps want the IRS to look into Rev-J for violations. This guys talks to Gawd. So rich...

Hello World, Thanks for Checkin' Out The "Rocks"

This IS actual size. I'm 11 inches tall and almost 1lb (and I feel kinda flabby right now).
I'm holding on and I'm clinging as of lates. What am I holding on to...I don't even know if that  exists-I just know that I'm holding on. One of the thingies that makes me happy lately, and also makes me not-happy, is looking at the statistics of the six pack blog. It makes me happy that peeps from all over the world (that is, if you are not a 'bot') come to check out my godless abs (and it makes me not-happy that the numbers are down-it's a double edge sword). Thanks so much weirdos from other countries that come here. I really hope that you originally came for the six pack, but you stayed for the content.

The statistics that Blogger provides does many things. If you have a blog you must, MUST, check out your stats. If you don't, then I'm revoking your skeptic/atheist/nerd/goober card. Shame on you fer not "bro-ing out" on the numbers. In this post I just wanna address and acknowledge the "audience statistics."

The free statistics that Blogger provides can break it down into diff categories like now, day, week, month and all time. It can break it down to what operating system peeps are using and what browser peeps are using. There is a lot of good information and you can learn from this stuffs, like, I didn't know simple pie was a browser or that there were even hella operating systems. Who knew, not me (that's a good sentence). Fuck that shit, what I wanna post about right now is the audience stats. Where is it that everyone comes from.

I Googled Australia, hot chicks and beaches for this pic.
Oh yea buddy, all the super hot skeptic/atheist ladies from down under are coming to the six pack blog, this week. In fact, 23. And if you are reading this and you are a dude (how do Australians says 'dude' or 'bro') from down under, then disregard this comment. Thanks homies.

Russia, this week, is rolling in at 89 super hot blond atheist ladies that wear a ridicules amount of bling. In fact it is a gaudy amount of bling, the amount that makes people stop, point and stare when they see it/you. But you knew that, right, baby and that is why you come here. Thanks. If you are a fat, drunk and hairy Russian dude, then disregard the previous comment. Thanks.

Of course, America is gonna come in first in all the categories. For the week I have had 'gaudy' 763 hits...from the good 'ol U (space) S (space) of (space) A-aaaaaaaaaaaa. And funny thing, you would think that I would have hella readers, subscribers, followers from Sac Town, but that is not the case. WTF.

OK, moving on to the "day" category, lookie lookie who is representing hard with 10 mighty hits. Guess...you guessed correctly...Pakistan. OM(nonexistent)Gawd!!! Pakistan, welcome, welcome. I hope you are freedom fighters and are of like mind with me. I imagine that if you have a computer and Internet then you are "well to do", or a college student perhaps. Deff. liberal and deff. open enuff to come here. I think it's so cool that 'lil old me gets 10 frackin' hits from your country. If you are the Pakistan secret service or a cleric that will cut off my hands for blasphemy...then this is not Kriss. He moved.

I'm a gonna bunch this one. Pale, fared skin, super hot ladies of the United Kingdom (whatever that is, I'm American so I don't know geography) with your freckles and your soft and fair skin that never sees the sun, thanks for coming by today, 12 times. And that goes for you to Ukraine (8 times) and Ireland (5 times) and Finland (3 times), thanks for coming by ladies. It makes me feel good that total hotties from different countries come to the blog to see if there are more pictures of my six pack (but then you stay for the content, right). And...and if you are a dude from those countries, then thanks to you also...I guess. Any who...

Isn't looking at statistics fun. I think so. There is also a "right now" category and what that tells you is...who is on right now at this moment and ya know who I see there? You know who I see and I'm totally stoked to see you there, day after day, time and time again. It warms my heart that my peeps come to the six pack blog. I tooooooottttaaaalllly go to Filipino freethought blogs and atheist sites (when I can find them). I totally read the Filipino newspapers and try and stay up to date on all the 'haps' going on in the islands. I'm so proud to announce that at this moment, from my beautiful beautiful Philippines, I have one visitor. Salamat, homie and thanks.
One more picture for good measure.

The all time category is the all star statistics. These are the bread and butter, the ones that have fueled the fire for the two years and a handful of months that I have been killin' it here. In no particular order....Phiippines rolling in at 1,521 hits, the superior race with hot blonds, Germany rolling in at 1,069, surprisingly to me, the Netherlands rolling in at 482 (thanks you so much Netherlands. Like I said, I'm American and I'll have to look up where you are on the map. Thanks so much Team N-Land), South Korea is rolling hard at 388, but France trails them at 358. I appreciate all the attention, but really, I thought France would be like, top three, right. Still, it's much appreciated, both you countries (where's my North Korea stats I wonder). India and Canada, two countries that I have always thought would be nice to visit are rolling in at 1,986 and 3,839 respectively and do I have to say it...super hot Indian and Canadian atheist, skeptic and morally and ethically good hotties...thanks so much. I really, really appreciate it. I really do.

As I mentioned earlier, it doesn't seem like I have that many local readers while most of the readers (that's you guys and gals) are, like, totally in the world-n-stuffs.  I think it's absolutely wonderful that 'lil old me can reach an audience so wide and diverse and so all over the world. It brings a whole new meaning to that "drop in the bucket' analogy, or a butterfly flaps it's wings or...or...hell, whatever.

Thanks world,

Heart Kriss
